Show Manager’s Report for visit to
Oklahoma City Fairgrounds, March 10, 2008
I am pleased to announce that the
reconstruction of Barn 8 & 9 is well underway. The new Barn 8 Arena Building is
approximately 40% complete. The reconstruction of Barn 9 is also approximately
30% complete. These improvements are very impressive. As you may be aware the
new arena will be situated in Barn 8 running parallel with the road. The
measurements of the arena are 130’x250’. This building will also be equipped
with 324 bleacher seats. Barn 8 & 9 will have a total of 430 stalls. 5 indoor
wash stalls, 6 outdoor wash stalls and two new restroom facilities. The makeup
ring for the arena will be in the adjacent side of Barn 7.
I was very surprised to find many
unexpected improvements to the facility, which included all new lighting in Barn
7. A complete refurbishment of Barn 6. New portable stalls similar to Barn 1 & 2
with out the sliding partitions, new asphalt floor throughout entire building,
including stall floors. New ventilation system, lighting and electrical, paint
and five inside wash stalls. Barn 6 improvements are excellent! The new offices
are now completed and ready for use this year along with 2 private offices,
small conference room, kitchen area, two private shower/dressing rooms, ladies &
men’s room and last but not least, a large approximately 50’x75’ room that can
be divided or used fully.
In the very near future they will be
installing 4’x 8’ cork bulletin boards at several locations through out the
facility. These will be the only places allowed to post Flyers and information.
The large open ditch located between
the two parking lots adjacent to the railroad tracks as you enter from Reno is
scheduled to be filled to create additional parking.
These improvements are extraordinary
and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Next on the schedule is the start of
improvements and repairs to the coliseum. |
