From the show office

-The Two year Old Futurity Pleasure Driving World Championship will be held after class 103 on Tuesday afternoon.  Make sure to make a note on those schedules that are hanging in your groom rooms and dressing areas!  A list of horses in the finals is posted at the show office.

Notes

If you’ve seen Bill Pring, Jim Ryan and Yum Kee Fu signing autographs, it’s because they earned their celebrity status on the Fox 25 local news, chatting about the Grand Nationals!  Other news stations have followed; NBC 9 interviewed the 2007 Chairman Elect, Tony Lee, on Monday.

How ironic is it that Kathy Gutting, connoisseur of fine wine, took home the tri-color ribbon in the “Vintage” Park Saddle Amateur Masters Final?

The hottest things at Chisholm’s last night were the pool tables.  Keith Friday and Alicia Groff were dueling in a game of cut-throat (ask Alicia what her strategy is)!  Krista Dent and Mark Bodnar kept the second felt running.  The reserved bar table in the corner that traditionally plays host to California’s western women (and Man) was notably empty…

From the Youth Corner

The Youth Horse Judging Contest is still in need of horses to use Friday morning, October 13.  There will be over 100 youth from College, FFA, 4-H and AMHA Youth teams across the country and we want to offer them a great contest filled with a nice variety of classes.  This is a great promotional opportunity for the Morgan breed, as well as a fantastic tool to help future judges develop their skills.  We are still looking for horses to fill the following classes: Mares In Hand, Pleasure/Classic Pleasure Driving, English/Classic Pleasure Saddle, or Equitation. If you are willing to help us out and enter your Morgan please see Joyce Ackerman Burroughs or Erica Richard. You can also call Joyce at 716.560.7883
