Notes

Did you wonder why yesterday morning was so quiet in the barns?  Word is that Chisholm’s was hopping, and after the cocktails were consumed, line dances learned and the lights were turned on, everyone headed to IHOP for breakfast.  On a side note, a certain tri-colored corgi was found hanging out in the courtyard of a nearby hotel…

The crowd at the Habana was lively on Tuesday night.  Stop in on Sunday night if you want to meet Kayne, from Project Runway.  The locals say that the Copa bar at the Habana Inn is his venue of choice on Sunday evenings.

Last night was ladies night at Club Rodeo, complete with a contest of men in their skivvies.  Friday and Saturday night bring back bull riding at the club, so look for the horseshow crowd to be gathered there.  Over at Chisholm’s, things were a bit more subdued, but Julie Chan was celebrating her Hunter Pleasure Amateur World Championship win with the bar, and drinks were on her!  Make sure to ask Julie how she made it through her qualifying class with a pair of unmatched boots and a roll of duct tape…

Blackridge has several lovely photos in front of their stalls, one in particular is worth the walk to the stalls (Champion saddleseat rider, Tommy Brisco, on a very unique victory pass)…

Sherry Bartolucci and Bill Papola are in an informal race to win the most prizes in the Silver Possibility!  Pair two high powered business people, a chance to win prizes while contributing to a good cause, and you have quite the competition…

Check out the newest Equestrian Magazine, published by the USEF.  AMHA President Mike Goebig is featured in the “Connecting through Cuisine” article.  Mike is a chef in his spare time, when he is not training world champions at Broadmoor.  Suzy Lucine wrote an article detailing his accomplishments and his passion for the culinary arts.  Try his published recipe for Chicken with Fine Herbs Sauce.

The Morgan Horse Magazine

A percentage of each advertisement from the Morgan Grand National, appearing in the December issue of The Morgan Horse, will go back to help the shows.  A special fund will be set aside to be awarded to competitions and events demonstrating a need in 2007.  Contact Julie Dickie, Abbie Felton, Tony Lee or Ryan Ulrich in Oklahoma to book your advertising.

High Tea

Roadshow Morgans is hosting the Red Hat tea at 2 pm in the Exhibitor’s Lounge.  Wear a red hat if you admit to being 50 or older, pink if you’re under 50!
