Birthdays!

The Brown-Klein Family wishes to invite everyone to Sasha Klein’s 18th birthday party at Waterford Farm in Barn 6 today, after the afternoon session.  This is Sasha’s last year as a junior exhibitor, so let’s make this birthday one to remember!

Rick and Lisa Howa would like to invite everyone to JR’s 21st birthday party tonight after the evening session in the exhibitor lounge.  Come on up above the in-gate and help JR celebrate in style!

Stephanie Connor celebrated her birthday last night with a huge win in the Ladies Pleasure Driving World Championship with her beloved Festival Calypso. Frank Miller turns the big 4-6 on Saturday.  Be sure to help him celebrate tonight!

Notes

Best wishes go out to Grand National Chairperson, Elaine Galatz, who fell ill this week.  We all wish her well and out of the hospital soon.  Friend Fran Pugh, of Tara Farm, has stepped in this week to help show Elaine’s horses.

Zach Howa won the English Pleasure Junior Exhibitor 14-17 World Championship up on Minion Mademoiselle yesterday afternoon.  This was his last performance as a junior exhibitor, as he is off to college next year.  What a way to end such a brilliant junior exhibitor career!

Last night’s Parade class was one of the most highly anticipated of the show.  Three generations of Canadian horsewomen graced the ring with their full parade costume, Art Perry put on a spectacular performance, and Steve DeBolt took the ring by storm with HVK Pavarotti.  Each year in Oklahoma we get to see history in the making, and this great class will be one that people will be talking about for years.

Reining started off yesterday morning in Arena 9.  Disco Fever, owned by Cindy Nord, trained and shown by Josette Conti, kicked off the division with a blue ribbon in the First Year Green.  Come watch the versatility of the Morgan today and tomorrow with the Freestyle runs at 1pm on Saturday.  The new class, Green Rider Finals, run right before the Freestyle in Ring 9.  In its inaugural year, this class was set up for trainers or amateurs that are interested in getting involved in reining.

Wednesday evening’s session featured three full brothers showing in one session.  The cross of Nostradamus and Rapidan Indigo has produced the three that were in the ring; Springmill Encore aka “Bob”, Springmill Primary Colors aka “Steve” and Springmill Sequel aka “Tommy”.  If their barn names sound familiar, it’s because the three brothers are named after the men of Kohler Stables; Tom Caisse, Steve DeBolt, and of course the late, great Noble Flaire, who was known as Bob.

Stop by the AMHA booth today to finalize your bids in the AMHI and Youth auctions.  The bidding closes tonight!

Cochran Morgan Auction, on November 4th-5th 2007, will be auctioning a Morgan to benefit the families of the children killed in the Amish School Shooting.
